I pretty much hope the heroine is actually at fault for banishment, not just because "it's the prince's fault" or something. I hate when they called a villain but no she is actually misunderstood, let it be a story about someone actually fixing their mistake ffs.

Wasn't that just explained in this chapter by the mage saying something to the effect that she had been affected by his(?) spell all this time at the academy or something? I could be understanding that part wrong myself tho.

The main thing is that there are always going to be differences between a WN, which basically can be considered as the author's unfettered mind, and a LN/manga adaptation that go through an editorial process for publication.
