And now i remember why I stopped reading the novel version. That collar gag wasn't funny the first time but the author beats the joke to death by using it all the time and it gets annoying FAST.
The author seriously seems so eager to show their interest like it's everyone kink and think it's funny, idk maybe that joke is popular in Japan with home many downbad and masochistic people there

Sebas is the goat. Also the control collar from him is hillarious.
Gonna miss the family. Especially the black haired she was my favorite.

"Ragna's first outing"

This is probably a reference to the Japanese practice of sending a small child on an errand by themselves. It is done at an early age that would be considered dangerously young in the United States. In manga, the parents would typically shadow the child in secret to ensure that they are safe as they negotiate the streets or public transportation. So the joking implication is that Ragna is being treated like a small child on an errand.

Writing this as I go along the chapter, so might have/include some questions that already got an answer this chapter too.

“Put this demeaning collar on him and reprimand him if he’s being outrageous.” The maid says, instead of having them talk it out like a normal human being. Isn’t he already an adult too?? Like damn.
And then Alice goes on to say “Wow you’re really loved, huh? I’m so jealous.” even though she was the one getting all the attention 😭. Only good thing they said to him was for him to take care and to eat his vegetables, man. If that isn’t sarcasm that he didn’t get, I dunno WHAT to think of this, damn. The flashback does kinda make it make sense, but it’s not like she was there for that, so still leaning on sarcasm, I dunno. But he just didn’t get it since he thought of the fond memories instead of the difference in treatment that he DEFINITELY noticed right away, lol.

Wonder how they’ll treat her at the academy since I suppose they thought she wouldn’t be coming back. Doubt the heroine feels remorse if she put that scar on her face without a second thought—unless it was an accident—which it probably isn’t.

Damn. I mean I know it was handed to her so she couldn’t have NOT known, but even playing into the collar thing herself… Ehhhhh… Damn.

Definitely agree with this so far, ngl. Had a good start, but this came out of nowhere and is not really a fun gag. Maybe a mental slapstick dark-ish comedy, but I dunno 🤷.

Mc casually stripping the teacher is hilarious :pepela:

I hope for more fluff between the two tbh....
Think he actually took his shirt off beforehand since I don’t see any actual dramatic ripping shirt-explosion, lol.

Also I saw this comment before I got to the academy testing bit and my first thought was if he accidentally committed SA or something since you didn’t list pronouns, lol 🗿.

where's the proofreading? Are we gonna keep switching between Lagna and Ragna between pages?
The proofreader be Lagg(na)ing, fr.

Next chapter time, yippee (I guess lol).
