I like that the feeling of necessity and care are well crafted in the story, showing that the need to search and hunt for food and be creative is present, but you can make good food without needing to be a master chef.

I know I wouldn't survive a day in those conditions, I am a city boy trough and trough XD.

That she is. Though, I do expect the author to provide her with a place to allow her skills to shine sometime later. Maybe at some even where they have to interact with nobility in the capital, though Bard isn't bad at it she has lived there her whole life.
That's what I love about this novel, everyone is allowed a chance to shine.
