Hot damn, never been so early that I've seen "Uploaded 27 seconds ago".

Glad to see that the publisher themselves have seen readers' frustration (not that I had a problem to begin with; it doesn't take much to entertain me). I've seen some just outright ignore their audience.

Thanks for the notes. In perspective, those are all fair points. Just felt weird after 250+ of MC being OP as all hell not steamrolling things but with context, the current situation makes sense.

That FAQ from the publisher is BS.
If you go to zeroscans and check the comments for the chapters 251 and a bit before that you will get some info from the translator that it is different in the novel version.
---
According to the translators:
In the novel version killing the most beloved person is the condition for the eldest disciple to even start to learn the black warrior's technique.
So in the novel when Lin Jie visits the sword hall all the disciples have already been dead and turned into puppets for a long time.
Hence it was impossible to save them from the start.
---
However for whatever reason this was changed in the manwha version to this crap where Lin Jie can be stalled by just 4 disciples (turned into puppets) in chapter 251.
And that does not make sense.

The part about delaying Lin Jie with a powerful formation and 2 elders might be believeable.
But stalling Lin Jie with just 4 disciples in chapter 251?
Surely not.
And oh wonder, the "FAQ" does not mention that part of chapter 251 in any way.
Why?
Probably because they cannot explain that either.

So basically the publisher most likely demanded the author to make a change from the novel version in the story of this arc and had it changed to this bs.
And now they try to justify that even though it makes no sense.

Basically the strength of the heroes the average is around 100 with the strongest around 500. Compared to the sword sect where the average is about 1000 and the strongest around 10000. That would mean MC is around 15000, still strong but not overwhelmingly strong since three of the strongest would be able to at least keep him occupied with that power scaling

To be honest, this isn't the first time that they've changed original storyline. At other times it was either minor or that the change was rather welcome (For example, with Frostfire and alternate timeline Evan). The change this time is their most controversial one to date, hence the note.

Thank you for the translation and the extra Q&A section at the end. It was very appreciated.

If you need a FAQ to explain things, then something went wrong somewhere in the writing.

I think its less Lie Jin having tougher foes to face than it is taking him away from the MC spotlight for this new guy who just showed up last arc.

Hmm, okay, I get it. In cultivation stories cultivators are considered superior to literally everything else, right? Though Lin Jie's own sect was pretty weak, so I guess they were low level scrubs by comparison to the sword hall.

Thanks buddy, i didn't read the novel that's why i don't know much about it.
So, Novel really explained it in more detailed way.
I was pissed off that, why zero didn't saved them, but through novel i got info that they were already dead.
Well, don't know what was going on publisher mind when making the chaps giving false info and making readers go mad on lin jie.
NVM, thanks again!!

It wasn't false info in the manwha version.
They outright changed the story details.
That is why we see a weak Lin Jie in the manwha version without explanation or solid reasoning.

The only "reason" I could see is that the eldest disciple in the novel version was judged as too "dark" for a manwha and so they demanded a rewrite of the story there.
In the comments on zeroscans the translator mentions that the eldest disciple has a twisted love for the sword hall and its members.
That forbidden technique he has lets him turn people into his puppets by killing them and then sealing the soul into the body.
They retain their personality, emotions and will and all.
As such they can then continue to act normally except having to follow his orders.
So for him them being alive and them being his puppets with their original selves were practically the same.
Hence in the novel he had no issue with killing them so he could start cultivating the black warrior's technique because he then immediately turned them into his puppets and as such kept them "alive" in his opinion.

So maybe this twisted kind of personality was too dark for the publisher.

Honestly it'd have been easier to just throw a sop in and say "oh the puppets are burning their remaining soul force to seal Lin Jie in with an ultra impassable barrier" or something like that rather than have it a straight fight where he's held back. At the moment this feels like Oblivion levelling where the bad guys are just more powerful now for no apparent reason.

We all know that the story is changed every now and then, but this time we still say it's bs because they changed the story too much this time 😒
Also, thanks for the info Talh ^.^

So it seems the progress of this arc pissed off quite a few of the Chinese readers if the production team had to issue that statement. Hopefully that outrage won't cause the manhua to be axed...
I have a funny feeling that this publisher was forced to change the story from somewhere higher up, like the local CCP secretary or something, afterall CCP policy is of non-violence and order on the surface and this manhua could make people rebellious in their view I guess...

Well, when even the publishing team makes a note to explain stuff, we know that the story has gone astray ...

That said, the issue is why they decided to depart so much of the novel, to the point that the plot started to make no sense at points. Did they thought that representing a master of the traditional arts as such a dark and misguided individual as in the novel would be too much?

saw the Q and A. Just read the questions, didn't read the rest.

Sorry, it's trash, anyone can say it, even people without any argument of authority, not to mention the rest. All the remaining 3 characters alive are fucking useless^^

Even the novel is trash and it's like this anyway
