I don't know if I can continue reading Higanjima without my boi Ken-chan.

On page 12, looks like one of the spears pierced his head, but it's gone on the next page. And getting hit in the butt, too. Ouch.

Higanjima won't be the same without Ken-chan...

What a motherfucking badass, makes Akira's stunts feel kinda cheap compared to metal chad Kenny-boi.

Also feels cheap that Yuki will just get together with Akira just like that after this epic sacrifice, makes me hope she doesn't, Ken-chan deserves better than dying a fully blown cuck tbh (Yuki already has the hots for Akira atm, it would be a nice developmet to see, if that cliche japanese "forever faithful even after death" Clannad style popped in to honor his sacrifice properly, while also making Yuki feel any guilt over her actions some dozens of chapters ago).

But alas, we kinda know that Akira is a creator's pet, so I wouldn't get my hopes up. It was sure a bliss to have more than 10 Ken-chan centered (hell, any other character centered really, but especially Ken) chapters like we just had tho, that's kinda when Higanjima really gets me invested every time, Akira used to be interesting before the battle shounen spirit got to him after the "island escape attempt" arc.

Hm, thinking about it, is there a japanese wikia for Higanjima? Kinda curious to see how they structure the arcs.

I can't bear to have a Nishiyama arc if this is how anyone else's arc ends up being.

Although I wouldn't mind seeing a Katou arc if it means never seeing him again afterwards.

Oh yeah btw, I've found some japanese Higanjima "wikis" (more like uncyclopedias given just how much cynism and meme-ing there is, the tags and descriptions are at times absolutely hilarious). In Japan it kinda has a reputation similar to JoJo and Terra Formars, for being "laughably cool" (or the "Kinnikuman of horror") while trying to be actually serious with its crazy plot and settings.

This is so bloody badass, i wonder how he's moving thou as i'd imagine even a vampire would die when losing their heart, i know they said its through willpower but i don't know if that's all there is, he was already a strong human so maybe the boost you get from becoming a vampire is directly linked to how strong you where as a human, and thusly demons having different forms depending on how strong they where as humans/vampires
