Hope I dont come off as wierd but thats sooo cool.
Anyways the only reason i commented was because I was pissed that nobody was actually giving good reviews on this manga, considering how deep and complex it is.
Like everybody only talks about how its so gay (not that its a bad thing) but theres so much more than just the gayism (if you consider it gay)

Yea I agree, its often boiled down to "doomed bl" but genuinely its a piece of art work. It handles grief very interestingly and 'hikaru' s character is such an interesting one. And yoshiki, oh boy. the poor boy has insane self esteem issues, but not the ones usually displayed in media. he KNOWS hes a 'monster' but hes not, and the true monster can see that. He relates to that actual monster, and begs the people around to be nice to it (like asako), and hes nice to it as well, really nice, and excuses all it does. Because he relates. and damn thats great writing. (also sorry for noticeably late response, I actually read the manga all over again 💀💀)

I didn't notice it until you mentioned it, but yeah your right. And the reason Yoshiki pleads everybody to be nice to 'hikaru' is because Yoshiki sees himself in it. And I also love the fact that yoshiki knows hes a monster. He's very self aware and knows all too well that he is also effed up in the head💀
Just like you I also love how yoshikis self esteem issues are portrayed, theyre very subtle unlike how in other mc's their issues are literally their whole personality traits.
At first i didn't understand why the psychological horror tag (cuz i thought it was supernatural horror not psychological horror) was added, but now I definitely do 💀
And I think I need a reread too, because hikaru ga shinda natsu is just the type of manga that you have to read over and over again to pick up on the tiny details in it , because mokumokuren (despite the kinda funny name) is a mastermind that is probably as effed up in the head as their characters.
Also kinda off topic, but have you read oyasumi punpun?
Its also a psychological horror that is similiar to hikarugashindanatsu (but a tad bit more tragic and dark) but if you like hikaru ga shinda natsu, you'll probably like oyasumi punpun aswell.

The only reason I'm recommending it is because as a fan of hikarugashindanatsu I really liked pun pun aswell.

Ahh cool. Im always afraid of announcement's made without a time. It'd probably still be 2 years, depends on studio tho. And budget. I only hope its a high one, because it IS a very high rated manga with an award, after all. If not, ill finally become one of those "the manga was better" people lol

This is the first time im reading a manga that is indie and hasn't blown up YET. Yoo me too! This'll be my first manga I read without any amount of anime available. I'll brag about it so much but lowkey don't know many people to brag too haha. Really, ive only read that mods exist in the rules, and I seen them comment on bigger manga but only about the actual manga or answering question. ofc they dont exist here (yet at least lmao, wait till the anime comes out) but for some reason I like to think of them as lords that have domain over so many cities (mangas) and only keep track of the big cities lol
