Yesss voices are spot on! And the art isnt half bad! I was wondering how theyd handle the "goop" artstyle, and they kinda made it rainbow ish. They also went all in on the horror elements so that great too.
On another note, I had seen this randomly on insta, and not knowing japanese, I had no idea what the trailer was for, but somehow I KNEW it by the scenery shots at the beginning!! Threw me off with the crow tho, I dont exactly remember any crows in Hikaru ga shinda natsu.

Also, do we know at all what studio is behind this? Crossing my fingers its one known for better animation.

No idea, I did my own bit of digging but I couldn't find anything. We'll just have to wait and see.
Edit : the animation studio is Cygames pictures.

situation is so stupid tho... its just people's internalized homophobia in my opinion. The idea that "if gay, cannot be a well written story that I relate to because it tackles tough subjects!!!!" is just homophobic thinking. Though I agree its different for 'hikaru' because of his origin, he instinctively wants to consume souls but is deeply affected by hikaru feelings. still gay lmao

Yea at this point I think yoshiki in particular views 'hikaru' as a child that needs to be taught manners lol. He has a pretty strict moral (at least I get that impression) so I doubt he would allow himself to be attracted to 'hikaru'. He's still really attached though.

Im pretty sure sk8 is implied because langa's canonically queer, but I havent read the manga past the anime. And LC is a bit different because the author doesn’t have the ability to admit one option, but in an interview Cheng xiaoshi was meant to be a girl but quote: "didnt want the audience to get the wrong idea" and expressed how difficult it is to display female and male platonic friendships. I dont actually have any type of source so treat this like a rumor lmaoo. But to me, this specific out-of-context statement implies it to be platonic

LC is literally such eye candy and has such an awesome ost
And i swear i would die for wu guang or cheng xiaoshi
And the plot is soo good
It's been a while since I watched such a good series
Cuz like once i watched ep 1 i couldn't stop watching lol
