Leaving the harem shenanigans aside, a little bit of a peak story. Somehow it's hard to imagine a romance manga where nobody is a mess (for the most part) or played up to be overly lustful as a gag these days.

I mean, you already knew it would be at least a triangle with Kanai and Kanna doesnt change much outside Kanai being the typical childhood friend crush were none makes any move making it going nowhere as Himari seems comfortable in the friendzone because she knows Tenich have a crush on Kanai and at least wants him to resolve that situation on his own that leads to nothing happening because Kanai wont do anything, Tenich wont do anything and Himari wont do anything making it a very passive love triagle were the logical outcome is they graduate without anything being solve and then would depend on were Kanai and Tenich end up with Himari doing nothing.

Kanna is necessary because someone needs to shake things up otherwise it would be very boring, the dynamics require that to work since in Nisekoi Onodera and Chitose were very diferent characters and you still needed supporting characters to get the triangle to get moving, such as Marika that by being forward forced them to act, if you were looking for something as BokuBe then this setup doesnt work because each character had its own strenghts, weakness and were very diferent characters, Kanai right now is a walking 2D steriotype and Himari is barely better and this is chapter 16, Kanna is needed to get things moving because the story isnt moving without her, there is not much you can do without adding more characters.

Himari herself, though, despite being title girl, seems perfectly happy to serve as wingwoman, being (currently) fulfilled with her business and modeling and having a close friend with zero romantic interest in her to be concerned over (who also looks after the stuff in her life that she can't). Barring some kind of bizarre complication (this being manga, not completely out of the range of possibilities), i can see her and Iemori developing even more into something of a normal sibling-esque dynamic than having her actually get in the fight.
