so my first reaction to this story was - this is a poor man's Bokura no Hentai, with lot more sex. (little did i know that i actually had to LOWER MY SCORE FOR THAT when i finished this series)

i can't spoil it but i have to say that this is one of those stories where the ending really lands on the mark. it's such.. typical seinen romantic misunderstandings interluded by sex or masterbation scenes, but boy, it's a page turner. then when you get to the last volume, those last stretch of chapters, it kind of hit me that this was... genius writing. like i'm flabbergasted

yall are reading all these trash fucked up manga with the "Physiological (or Tragedy)" tag, like "Netsuzou Trap" or "Ijousha no Ai" or fucking "Domestic Girlfriend". (i like Ijousha tho) Himegoto was on another level, my dudes. i must admit that

i sort of wish this manga started with a disclaimer though : this story has a happy ending. (Life of Pi style, you know) i think it might be good to know that beforehand, but i'm spoiler tagging it anyways. like, even in Bokura no Hentai, not all the characters could be "saved." dicks out for Parou-san. this manga put the characters in WORSE situations but still managed to do so. so yeah, writing's an achievement on this one

Mikako's development and backstory were really difficult and bring some powerful messages to the surface:
Mikako suffered sex abuse as a child so that's effected her sexual tastes as an adult. Since her friends were there to create a safe space of acceptance for her she was able to change to someone healthier. She's not trapped in this cycle of manipulating people into codependent relationships.

The fact that her sexual preferences didn't change is a respect to that fact that people can't be changed overnight. Yet she did stop trying risky behavior by moving it to a workplace where she'd have protection and could avoid getting randomly murdered or raped. It could still happen at her workplace but at least there there are people in place to provide protection and have customers abide by rules.

Since her friends were there to create a safe space of acceptance for her she was able to change to someone healthier. She's not trapped in this cycle of manipulating people into codependent relationships. Her mother abandoned her to a pedophile. Then that pedo abandoned her when she was no longer within his range I can see why she's obsessed with her youth. It's obvious that he abandoned her because she's always working and worrying about money and scholarships. What's sad is that her mother probably also went through a similar type of childhood and instead of saving her child she left her to the wolves.

Her funeral attire for her coming-of-age ceremony felt like a mourning of her lost childhood. She couldn't control what was done to her nor obtain happiness but her insane behavior was also excused due to her youth. Now as an adult she has the freedom to make her own choices and recognize on equal footing but she also has to work through her dark past. T.T

The fact that her sexual preferences didn't change is a respect to that fact that people can't be changed overnight. Yet she did stop trying risky behavior by moving it to a workplace where she'd have protection and could avoid getting randomly murdered or raped. This must be my fourth time reading this and it still feels as fresh as the first time. An absolute must-read if you like angsty stories.

This is a powerfully written story that delves into some really dark places. It is very painful to read, at times, and I would caution survivors of sexual abuse and parental abuse to steel themselves before diving in.

Not really for my taste... ended up skipping a lot of it to see how it ends.

Interesting plot. Firsts volumes were amazing but later it felt like the story was looping but it keeps the interest.

@DjAlexDubCheck tf are u talking about comparing it to tomo chan lmao, this shit is pure degeneracy

this manga is about teen prostitution its way worse than what you said and i don't really remember tomo talking about that, yet again what shitty excuse to say "hey look there is worse elsewhere so its ok right ?"

its not even that deep, its just edgy af there is nothing good about it exept the art, the moral is shitty af and the goals of the manga are a mess, yet another semi-hentai manga that people think is profound but the only think profound is how the characters get fcked

this shit make me remember of that one hentai that everyone say is deep af when its clearly not, stop trying to find something deep in porn, weebs just like the prostitution themes because its the only way they can get laid, its just pathetic how this kind of manga is always loved by the same type of person.

you can see a manga is not that deep when 1/3 talk about how they fapped on it, its just a mediocre author that can't even though a shitty romcom correctly.

the guys liking this shit are probably the same that liked scum's wish, scums.

I wanted to like it, but I'm afraid that it might not be for me. I thought it would be all dark and deep, but it's just a melodramatic mess, like an x rated soap opera.

The premise is intriguing, though unfortunately the way the author connected the dots seemingly ended up being a tangled mess of web instead. I felt like some actions taken by the leads looked illogical/out of their character, which made the story somewhat feels draggy somewhere in the middle. The ending isn't that exciting except for Mikako's choice of kimono for her coming-of-age ceremony, which befits her character really well. Yuki/Yoshiko's journey to find her feminity and the use of her school uniform as a symbol are also quite interesting. Unfortunately, the dude's part isn't quite fleshed out, and that's such an unfortunate. I don't regret reading it on one sitting, though it's least likely that I'll be back to reread it.

The best smut manga I've read so far, though the plot was intruging and the overall progession was nice. Althoguh the smut part of it was a bit... intense? More like soft, the manga was really great and I'd highly recommend this to all the smut-drama manga lovers out there!

(The ending felt refreshing and I don't know why)
