Hmm. It does preserve some of the mystery that she didn't write the full will, only a part of it. One other possibility they seem to have written off in this chapter is whether the dad might have been that one in three to find it and have added that line himself?

The implied further history between them does address the suspicious first chapter. Maybe he had an accident and has some mild amnesia to have forgotten her...

My theory: it was dad who added the second part about accepting them into the family!

I think it's great that these two are so close that they can be completely open and honest with their feelings, without fear of judgement... the kinds of things Naoomi felt are normal things to feel, but at the same time, you kind of know those feelings are wrong. And to say them to someone from that other family... I think it's great that he can just say that and not be afraid of Yuzu judging him or reacting badly. They understand each other really well and have great trust in each other.
