I'm enjoying the characters and the story so far. Even if similar has been done before, both MCs are cute and interesting, so I'm rooting for them however things turn out. Thanks for the TL!

The affair thing makes no sense, as that would mean yuzu has no blood relation to thee family and is a complete stranger, while naomi is a direct descendant. Reputation or not, blood is what matters to these kind of families most, not only blood, but preference for males, so no way do they treat him like that unless they don't know yuzu is illegitimate, but that seems unlikely. Like granted this is a manga and works on manga logic, but in a realistic situation it would be extremely unlikely.

I mean look there are plenty of works like Koi Kaze that already exist, so this being incest, eh. And for all the sweet home Alabama jokes people make about incest, pretty sure marrying your first cousin in Japan was pretty damn normally until recently, while on the flip even in Alabama, like even a second or third cousin would be viewed as weird. Given how people don't blink an eye at cousins there, honestly going from first cousins to half siblings isnt that much of a bigger step.

actually interesting and nice the maids don't immediately fall for him cause he's so "nice" when he was protecting her from the water pressure thingy or something like that.

My theory not spoiler
Yuzu mom was married to Dad due to some political or other reason but she already had someone. Similarly dad was already in love with naomi mom. So they decided to only keep a pretend family while keeping their lovers seperate. Something like mutual adultary. In that case Yuzu won't be the legal daughter either. And the head actually knows that. Hence he let Naoomi live there to keep a potential heir now that his son is dead. This also explains why yuzu mom is trying to keep them away from digging into this matter. And all these will be revealed much later after Yuzu and Naoomi developed complex feeling for each other but cant admit thinking they are half siblings. And when they learn they are not they f*ck. THE END.
its a odd idea that they can fix the family`s issue by just fking.

1 bloodline who wish. to preserve the line.
and the other line wish to take over.

them fking would connect the 2.

Damn, this is a really well-written mango so far. Can't wait to see how it gets fucked up with trope abuse! (なんてね :smug:)

The "she's an affair baby so they're not actually blood-related" twist seems so obvious that I feel like it's a red herring...
They said the same thing about TADC and yet everyone loved the finale <- copium

There's a Roman Holiday thing going on, with a rich runaway princess going on a motorbike adventure with a commoner. There's a bit of forbidden romance (Beyond she's Rich Audrey Hepburn to your Commoner Gregory Peck, thanks to the incest angle) but the mismatch is the more interesting part of the story.

And where Roman Hioliday ended with their acknowledging their romance was never meant to last, I think this story ends better if they're not a couple at the end. Something like "Surprise, you're not related!" would handwave away the rest of their relationship. But if they were to, say, end up rising above the other family members and taking over the family as business partners, that would feel fresher.

The affair does make sense as a potential plot point, and it doesn't make Yuzu a complete stranger either. Relationships are deeper than genetics. Adoptive children, even unknowingly, have the same claim as natural children.

Until we get some on-screen mention of DNA testing that proves the father of each, we can only assume Kazuomi is the father. Everyone else will assume it, too, since none of the staff are going to be taking it upon themselves to verify genetic lineage.

Everyone will just believe Kazuomi's word that he's the father of each. This leaves open the potential for either to not have the father everyone assumes.

Not to aristocratic money old world families. Adopted children were usually adopted from branch families so there is still blood relations, and those are in scenarios where there is no blood descendant, I can think of almost zero work or real life scenarios where some noble / old money family knowingly advocated for a non relation over a direct descendant. I mean laws of average I am sure an example can be found, but it would be extremely atypical.

The only way this theory works is if the father is the only one in the family who knew, you think a grandfather that directs his direct blood the way this guy did, would give half a care in the world to a granddaughter who is not his grand daughter. No for these type of people, as depicted in this manga, its blood and only blood. Haha, sure sure. Since you are talking about claims, you do know there are things like blood wills or bloodline wills that exist, even in the US, you can literally stipulate things pass only to direct blood , so with those laws existing in the real world in a place like the US, you think some old money Japanese family would make some girl who is basically proof their direct descendant was cucked the legal heir. Haha no.
