I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this manga really ends up going the incest route. But what I’m more curious about is the grandfather’s reaction when MC finds his late father’s old diary. I wonder if my theory from chapter 3 is actually right, that MC’s father and Yuzuru’s mother got married because of political business reasons, not because they truly loved each other :pepehmm:

That moment when your friends from school come over and your dad starts talking how silly you were when you were a kid.

Also, wholesome grandfather... :3

As for the chapter itself... That final panel looks sus. I do wonder what is the story between their dad and why did he had two families who knew nothing about eachother.

The reality is that their father loved both of them equally.

I wouldn't be surprised if Grandpa intervenes to protect his son-in-law's dignity or some other family secret. Like, he wouldn't oppose to the two of them marrying but would still be an opponent when it comes to digging around too much.

Or maybe he knows the truth all along (maybe the parents each had an affair) and he doesn't want yuzu to find out she is also illegitimate.

I think their father was the grandfather's son, not son-in-law. Their aunt calls Yuzu's mother as Yukari-san which implies some distance, even though they would be sisters (more likely sister-in-law).

I originally thought that their father met Naoomi's mother by happenstance and fell in love with her but I thought up and even crazier idea based on grandpa's reaction. What if the grandfather orchestrated their father's marriage to both women as part of some succession play of trying to generate the two successors who grows under different upbringings. So that the legal successor isn't too complacent. Or maybe this is a full Habsburg play to ensure the blood line stays pure 🥵

I think grandpa's worried about what kinda shenanigans he's gonna hear than them casually invading their dead father's diary💀
