Pornography is essentially meant to fap to and that's it; it's up front and generally shows everything (even if it's behind censorship of some sort) and that's all there is to it. Erotica is salacious, can have fappable scenes, but actually has a plot that doesn't fixate on just the pornographic scenes all the time. That's basically it.

Or, TLDR: Erotica is a story about the sexual journey of a couple or multiple people. Porn is just blatant sex without needing a story.

To be more clear, the difference is how much you can do. Erotica spends most of its time on story. There's also the scenes themselves, erotica tens to use less revealing angles by convention, there's an understanding that the reader isn't there to fap.
