Published just 2 years after Girl Friends and Morinaga Milk already used the "lesbian tells her crush that she's giving up on her love even though her crush has already fallen for her but isn't quite sure of her own feelings" dynamic. I'm still enjoying this but it's striking how familiar this dynamic is
