so the test for everyone else, was if the ace of the class could pass a test (though I suppose the nobles also had a test whether they would acknowledge an ace of lower birth and follow his orders). Seems legit.

@Wolfwhistler that is why the nobles kinda had it (following orders from a commoner) as a test. Everyone else already had a solid subordination to the ace, making the test for them be only whether the ace would retreat.
