More people need to read this.

All y'all aces please spread this far and wide.
I think spoilers is fair and needed.

I still think the ace/not dynamic is very relatable, despite that being part of my abusive marriage.

It was not why the relationship didn't work. It made things difficult occasionally

Am I the only one that feels like Kagiura is being a little too pushy? He confessed to Hirano, and he was rejected, I can understand him not accepting said rejection, but wanting to act like a couple even though you aren’t dating is a bit unreasonable. Hirano is an accepting person, but Kagiura has no right to be jealous over little things such as Hirano and Sasaki having an effect on each others habits, they’ve obviously known each other for a long time, or his old roommate that used to take care of Hirano giving him chocolate, not because he likes him, but because it upsets his stomach. I feel like this the uprooting of a toxic relationship, and hopefully Hirano confronts Kagiura about it in later chapters.

you're not wrong. if someone turns you down, you should just say "thanks" and stop pursuing them.

kagi has been coercive and pushy. but he's also a dumb kid in a world where people arent clearly taught that behavior is inappropriate. also, i know hirano has been manipulated, but if he's uncomfortable, he should continue to be firm about it. i think if he said "no" clearly, kagi would eventually back down after being a horrible whiny baby about it.

i agree with you that i'd like the comic to address the fact that kagi's behavior is pretty shitty, but i'm not anticipating that it will.

I think this is half the point of the series.

You're not wrong, but this is literally what they agreed on like a year ago.

To see if they could make it work.

An ace/not-ace relationship is gonna be no small amount of work, but there is a flash-forward in a SasaMyaa volume.

Knowing this author, it will be addressed in some way.
It has, actually, but Hirano is kinda of a pushover, so Kagi-kun has to stew and regret and apologise and at this moment he's a bit... looming? but when Hirano is reluctant but feels obligated, he's shocked that Hirani felt that way. He didn't know he is being... a dumb kid, but he actually does care.

Right now their relationship is confused and confusing. It's more mess than productive. It happens.

There's a flash forward you can read.

If this was real life I would be WAAAAAAAY more critical! If it was IRL adults it would be like "not worth it, yo."

Ok ok i think i understand whats going here! I was revisiting the whole series for a little animatic/edit i was making and i realized... Hiranos asexuality shows through those physical romantic tests Kagiura proposed. Hirano doesn't feel attraction, doesnt have the interest in engaging in so, hes just happy to see Kagiura happy. But hes clearly inlove, seen by how he does things he doesn't do to others unconsciously, he doesn't want to separate from Kagiura even if it means experiementing things hes not interested in. He blushes at Kagiuras praises and is annoyed when hes not satisfied with what hes giving. The moment of "if touching you makes you happy, then look happy when i do it!" Is what settles that for me, Hirano is an asexual who loves through acts of service/gift giving, why would he waste time doing something hes not interested in doing, if the person hes doing it for doesn't like it either?
Also, in this chapter he realizes, hugging is not working for him, because its Kagiura triyng to make Hirano feel the same butterflies as he does, but thats just not what he wants, he doesn't really feel physical things like that. So he tries to hug him instead, and realizes, thats what he enjoys, to see Kagiura happy in a way that hes not the one being given that attention.
Thats my interpretation of his character, and i hope what i said made sense ^^
