I doubt that's going to happen. Romcoms do it because they're mostly poorly, lazily written slop and the authors and/or editors are too scared of pissing off shippers and taking away potential revenue if readers of one ship or another get mad and stop reading so now they're cheaping out with harem endings.

While I do think that there's a few things about this series that could be better (Yamada and Oorui fucking off) it's overall certainly not poorly, lazily written slop because Shinzo is an actual good writer who draws, presumably, from actual real life instead of taking all of his inspiration from VNs and other forms of otaku media.

Sorry but the Yamada slander is unnecessary. The guy really embodies art school cool boyfriend to it's fullest and is absolutely needed.

Probably a mix of shame and not wanting hiroto to worry about him. Hiroto is in no position to help out hideki and it would just worry/depress him.
