Oof. I can't really relate much to this, but I guess I sympathize with her wishing her past self was a bit more honest with wanting to be with her?
Either way, it's too late. The past you always has sway over the future you, no matter how similar or different you'll become.
At least her friend is doing really well for herself!

Speaking of plastic surgery, there is this oneshot about a girl who had her face remade to look like her beautiful classmate in high school, only to meet the same girl at work years later. Then things got dark fast.
Everything from that artist is dark.

I kinda dislike both of them. Macchan was a bit of an ass as a teenager - which is understandable, we all are/were - and Yukino feels like she's rubbing it in a bit. Maybe I'm too cynical, but this entire interaction feels calculated for that purpose.

this would have a whole different vibe if yukino hadn't had plastic surgery (and nacchan still felt regret), with it perhaps feeling like a message about realising what you've got while you still have it - but alas, the fact that she did means that nacchan's regret does nothing but make her seem extremely shallow, to the point where i don't really feel bad about her.

Honestly I'm refreshed by the POV that this oneshot uses. In most stories this entire interaction would be from Yukino's perspective. Also I like how the MC isn't portrayed as a over-the-top villian. She's definitely a bad person, but it feels like the type of bad person you'd normally deal with in your life.

Honestly, I don't think Yukino thought that far. Macchan was the one who brought up the whole topic, Yukino was probably just being opportunistic.
