What a plot twist, isn’t it? - but jokes aside 殺すのは最後にしてやる it´s a line/reference used many shonens and actions movies, you know the classic villain dialoge where tells their strongest enemy 'I'll kill you last' as a twisted form of respect.

I could be a reference to Commando, one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's films. In it he threatens one of the villains by saying "You're a funny guy, Sully. I like you...that's why I'm going to kill you last".

Though the idea of a yuri author in Japan making a random reference to an Arnold movie is pretty unlikely...but it'd be funny.

Sora is definitely a stand-out character in this series (although all the main characters are pretty stand-out, honestly), so it's nice to see more focus on her when we get it. As the other comments said, if you haven't read My First Love's Kiss yet, I do recommend it if you want more of her.
