Just how much one guy could cost them? And "we only get entertainment from him" while entertainment industry is one of the biggest industries on the planet. And he has a holographic projector, and likely few thousand years worth of entertainment in databanks. If anything they should be afraid that he will supplant their entire culture. With a sneaky "and btw humans are your god and creator, and you used to be pets to us". Even if they kill him, he can run an automate broadcast from the orbit.

I understand his refusal to detail some of the mechanisms, but rockets? That’s where he draws the line?
Nanomachine tech is too advanced for them to use and nuclear can be cataclysmic real quick.

Rocketry can lead to satellite tech, communications, gps and obviously needs flight and planes to be developed and understood before it can be properly implemented. Of the things he can help them witch and has access to rockets makes sense. While everything can be used militarily, rockets are a key tech that leads to many civilian techs that will greatly benefit more than theybcan destroy

I have a feeling we're going to get a "Earth was destroyed due to war" kind of reveal at some point, judging by this reaction he had previously and his fear of revealing too much technology. I'm also wondering if that's the reason he has completely blacked out eyes.

This could also just be a general fear of previous wars on earth, seeing as this planet doesn't seem to have had a worldwide conflict.

Rockets: Necessary, Primitive. You can work them out in late bronze age or early iron age if you happen to have the right materials nearby. The Kemono-world folks haven't figured them out because they haven't had to. Sooner or later you get a Warner von Braun or the like, and then shit gets real REAL quick. If you're very lucky, Kemono Warner is lawful neutral and just wants to launch to the moon. Sharing that kind of tech isn't really much more dangerous than sharing the recipe for black powder, and leads to things like global communication and opens the door to space exploration as others have mentioned.

Nuclear Power. Not primitive, and in the wrong hands, really, really dangerous. Every time you open a square on the tech tree, you get both a positive and negative application. Nuclear Power is, when done correctly, really safe. The number of people we've had die from the mishandling of Nuclear Power in the last two centuries is NOTHING compared to the number of people we've had die from mishandling of coal power.

But, being able to build your own reactor and support machinery for it means you're also able to start refining nuclear material that can be used in weapons. That way madness lies. You don't HAVE to build centrifuges capable of refining weaponized uranium, as many modern countries have demonstrated, but you CAN. Astronaut-kun has known the Kemono-folks for a few months at this point. He's going to have to know them a LOT better to find someone he can trust with nuclear power.

There's a lot of technology he could share that is primitive by his standards and is future tech for them. Not sure why we gotta focus on the end game tech tree.

Hell, just giving them the formula for the Haber–Bosch process would be a massive agricultural game changer.

My first guess was that his ship used something even more advanced and dangerous like cold fusion or antimatter, though I guess nuclear fission is also sufficiently difficult and potentially cataclysmic.
Fundamentally, any civilization that capable of building an interstellar ship that moves at an appreciable % of lightspeed is also capable of building a relativistic kill vehicle

Good chapter, sad it was short ..
For my comment, 1st i just noticed that he mention that he cant share his tech knowing it will be used for war yet the kemo like "what for war?"... This reminds me of a real life conversation about humans that any new tech is most likely used for war, from steam engine, plane, chemicals, and even energy... Then there is these convo about how we human project ourself to others like how hito thinks that his tech will be use for war which confused kemo there, they probably dont have war mentality unlike humans...

2nd, i thought the pod he used to land on the sea was his craft... I didnt know he has a main spacecraft above space...

3rd of all the tech he could share the hibernation is probably the safest that could be share but because of kemo's tech it is probably impossible so the second best he could share is the rocket... It may be use for war but maybe not because of my 1st comment....

4th, look how catgirl get jelly over a girl(which probably an ai in hito's spaceship) then proceed lap sitting and demand patts...

I get worrying about unethical uses of their technology... BUT, given the Kemo's history of being so peaceful and consistently looking to not fight each other, giving them such tech doesn't seem like it would be that bad.

I do wonder how they apparently power their world, if their global climate changes are primarily on the colder side, whereas ours our primarily hotter, as the increased c02 absorbs more heat... perhaps they're thinning out their atmosphere somehow? That would be a massive issue, beyond just cooling. :thonk:
Also, the girls name, is probably just an AI.
