I wonder if the artist understands the first part of "show, don't tell" to mean "keep ever so slightly out of sight". Be it combat, monster corpses, cockroach spirits (these last ones in particular, had they not said several pages later what they were supposed to be, I'd have remained totally clueless).
And when they do show SOMETHING it doesn't make sense, like a goblin head cleanly cut off horizontally after a vertical slash. Was that goblin obediently bowing down, waiting for her to hit him?
