I wonder if the artist understands the first part of "show, don't tell" to mean "keep ever so slightly out of sight". Be it combat, monster corpses, cockroach spirits (these last ones in particular, had they not said several pages later what they were supposed to be, I'd have remained totally clueless).

And when they do show SOMETHING it doesn't make sense, like a goblin head cleanly cut off horizontally after a vertical slash. Was that goblin obediently bowing down, waiting for her to hit him?

the pacing is awful and disjointed, which sucks because I think there's an interesting story in here just a bad adaptation to comic format

I think it's the opposite... I have two theories:

1. The speedrun lowers the quality of the manga, that hampers sales, getting it axed faster...
2. Maybe this manga was meant to be from the start as an LN advert, and the mangaka is restricted by either number of chapters, and/or number of manga volumes (page count).
