I agree it is kind of odd, but when you think about it, C to B is also a massive jump. However, what apparently is required is also massive. non-lethal (usually) to requiring national effort. I assume, F rank is for shit tier mobs, like a worm or a fish would also be included. Like if you somehow died fighting them, you would be seen as an insult to humanity. Even rank D has some chance of death, so the inflated price. That or anything above F is very rare at best.

If converted with today's rates, 8M is roughly $73,000 US Dollars. Which actually, isn't 100% unheard of. He basically earned a person's yearly pay in a month or so. And he was in a forest with a good abundance of resources, and targets to hunt, plus he had an army of girls to fight for him. He even completed a quest somehow even though he isn't registered, which only begs the question of what is the purpose of joining the guild if you still get to complete quests with reward included without registering?

Frankly speaking, its been such a long time since I've read this series web novel.

I've forgotten the plot, but I do remember that he did go back to the forest to check up the dudes and ended up killing 1 classmate who own usurper? skill. The memory is kinda fuzzy so the skill might be wrong, so yeah there is a serious plot.

I myself had to rage quit from reading the web novel on this series because the MC keep spouting random shit in his monologue constantly, it irritates me with this useless random information. This is because he is a loner, he have this bad habit of speaking alone and it's full with random crap that have nothing to do with the story. Also from time to time there is this bad miscommunication going on between MC and other characters. He doesn't listen to other peoples talk, ignore them and doesn't even remember their name. He always call the other character based on their appearance. It's really hard to enjoy this series to be honest. It feels like the author is killing the series with the MC ignoring the existence of the other characters.

Because the lot of girls around him are the annoying entitled classmates that think they are something and in the brothel the girls are there for the exact reason he wants.

In the brothel he can be certain of getting some action with the "girls around him" he can be certain of getting a headache.

I read a bunch of WN chapters (100+) through MTL, and I'm still not sure if he's incredibly strong, or relatively weak but with a variety of incredibly strong skills and good usage of them.

I thought he showed his stats to others at some point, and they also don't think they're very good? But he barely ever has a difficult fight while all of his classmates struggle while fighting in large groups? Between my confusion and the later chapters (of which there are over a 1000) being nocturne (age 18+) chapters, and not conducive to google translate, I kinda gave up on the series. (Google Translate won't translate nocturne chapters, at least as far as I can tell.)

I think I'll keep with the manga though, but I do feel like they're skipping details. I think F rank magic stones are divided into at least another 10 subdivisions, which isn't clarified at all here.

@godturtleom if chinese wuxia manhuas are an indication, thank god the subdivisions aren't included. because no one except the scanlators will fucking remember it. and only then prolly because they have notes...maybe.

@blablablub and @sjmcc13 it's a very loose breakdown, it may be broken down by monstertype, threat level, or something, once you get to those levels. That or the difference between those ranks isn't very great, like it's not worth enumerating during the explanation. Like one, five, or ten million between each of those ranks.
