With the manager complimenting his "Married Women's Academy" book I can't help but think that this is all gonna turn out that the manager is a cuck, and he's fine with any developments.

Potentially, I'm imagining an ending with (since this is a comedy series) the guy getting de-stoned, MC admitting he had impure thoughts for his wife, the guy encouraging him, and then the MC getting excited about it but then realizing he's immediately turned off from the whole idea now because his NTR-brain needs the "stealing someone's wife" aspect, and it doesn't count enough if the guy's cool with it.

I don't really see how it's "a hell of a lot" of plot when it was summarizable easily in a sentence. Gag comedy doesn't mean it's never allowed to have any plot anyway, especially something as simple as that which could be brought up + done in a few pages (and is itself a joke, so it could easily be the point of a chapter).

Not like the author's other ongoing work (Dark Summoner)'s entirely devoid of plot developments/background either.

This looks like a gag manga through hand through. Don't expect anything aside from the fan service since entire premise is about him resisting the obvious outcome and the wifes cluelessness. She also legit loves her husband way too much.

Dark Summoner was never a gag comic centered around a running gag. There is somebody moaning about progression in every one-dimensional gag comic’s forum. Would you complain about the lack of running gags in every chapter of a dark, moody, romance?

It's baffling that you somehow think "progression" centered around building up yet another NTR-related joke, like the entire series has been, is equal to wanting gags in some grimdark manga.
