Do people read things anymore? The girl wasn't a perfect victim who refused help she was a teenager in a vulnerable position (just stopped being bullied with only one person defending her). All her actions make sense, from trying to defend the person she sees as her savior and being talked into ignoring good advice because it was coming from people who didn't really care about her (ignored her getting bullied, didn't help when he left her). Like damn sorry the abuse and rape victim wasn't a perfect strategist.

this one hits wrong for me, it teaches girls to be cautionary of all men (by virtue of having the girl go from being bullied to being in a toxic relationship - ignoring the fact she had three months to realize and jump off), while portraying evil as if it's overt.

That is an interpretation I guess. I won't make any "wild accusations" like you say, but I don't think this is telling people to be scared of "all men" so much as "look for signs of abuse" or even "don't trust blindly". This girl didn't know them or consciously ignored them because she thought the guy was good because he stood up for her in the past. The caution would then be to not do that.
