I guess that's one way of doing it. But now I suddenly want to see a comic where the succubus transforms into some kind of tentacle monster or eldritch horror and gets freaked out by the dude's weird fetish.

So it finally happened. Every few years unnoficial manga sites get hit on a massive scale until they get taken down and eventually some other site emerges. A shame for mangadex and for the readers.
As my only prior experience of this was from mangarock, is this also how the old batoto died?

No, old batoto ended because the owner didn't care for it anymore, and didn't want to deal with the responsibilities of maintaining the site running. At least that was what he claimed at the time when they announced the site closure.

In case you're still here to answer, is this the first time they went nuclear with the flagship primary site (not aggregator)?

Scum behavior tbh cause japanese publishers are super retarded.
Do they unironically expect everyone to read in Japanese because they think everyone reading manga must be from Japan or some shit??
Thankfully certain aggregators are keeping shit.
Also, aggregators and pirate websites got me addicted to introduced me to mangas. I’m pretty sure that the first site that I ever used for mangas was mangakakalot after searching “XXX manga free read English” (I take only a little shame)

The only thing that pisses me off more than what you said is when the Japanese look at how much piracy websites in their traffic and automatically assume that that’s how much money their losing without realizing that
1: it’s a service issue. Fix your own goddamn problems.

2: at least a good chunk of anime and manga viewers will not pay for the official release even if it’s in English.
