Holy moly, the glazing on this story is bananas. I see many people say that this is one of the only exceptional stories that have come out from this mangaka, but I'd rather bite my own fingers off than say that I agree with that statement.
Honestly, probably one of the worst. Don't get me wrong, it started out alright. A little cringe, not too much though. The fight scenes were good, the development of the main character's strength and personality was top tier, how the characters interacted with each other made sense.
Now? Not at all. The fight scenes are still good, but everything else is... Not good, to say the least. First off, the main character was strong. He was on his little emo boy arc, justifiably crashing out and being a general bad ass. He learned how to fight, he's a genius after all, and that was shown with how the author himself even said that the main character was getting close to perfecting his style.
After that arc, we get a nice juicy crisp slap in the face as he ends up 'losing his power'.
The reason is, god it's making me annoyed writing this, is because... well, honestly I don't even know... Something about not moving forward...????? Now, if it was well-done, it'd make sense but it simply doesn't. We spend like 5-10 chapters talking about how he had to come to this big important philosophical realization to make his power come back. A chapter later, he does something with Karate Kid over here, and forget all that philosophical bs, a simple physical action apparently made him get his power and martial arts back. LIKE WHAT?!?!?
