My theory is Mashiro and Akane were never actually dating. Akane realized that there was more about their parents murder and had been looking into it on her own and using Mashiro as an excuse. Mashiro was fine with it and was into Aoi so there was probably some level of exchange for the girls. Mashiro made the cookies to "help" Aoi by making it so her sister will literally be a part of her.
