think about it like this if Myne and Lutz were to sell the product directly to consumer for $2.00 half of it goes back into cost leaving $1.00 so they make 100% profit now lets say that they can reach 5 people like that then they make 5 dollars.
now lets say Myne and Lutz sell through a distributor with an established trading network, a reputation amongst the desired clientele, and a simply higher amount of reach .if the distributor takes 60 cents of that $1.00 and Myne and Lutz get 40 cents. as long as that distributor can sell to 13 people they make more money than they would by themselves. so if the distributor can distribute the product to to 2.6x more people than they can without a distributor they are making more money than without a distributor and I think we can all agree enno has likely near incalculably more distribution capability than two dirt poor 6 year olds.
they are in essence paying him for the ability to make more money.
they could have maybe haggled him down another 5 percent but that's probably the max I'd actually go so far as to say the deal was good.
Benno could have squeeze them to like 10 maybe even 5 percent and been economically justifiable just off his reach compared to the, may I remind you? dirt poor 6 year olds.

If you actually look at the process there actually not that much skilled labour required. everything described could be done with a lot of effort but little skill I mean think about it what's the most skilled labour in the whole process? this could be done fairly cheeply with a group of labourers. two people doing a labour intensive job doesn't make it more valuable two men men crushing a large rock with hammers doesn't make the resulting crushed rock more valuable than a machine crushed rock of like quality.
