Everyone already accept "Menacing" as a sound effect so "nonchalantly" is good in my book.

I am fine with "nonchalantly" since it didn't disrupt my reading
thank you for the chapter!

I agree with your decision. I've seen plenty of non-sound sound effects in manga, and I'd rather get a real translation of what's there if possible. There's no need to change it to dialogue.

Well, that's just how JP onomatopoeia is. The same as イラ sfx when the character is annoyed. And yeah there's *menacing* too lol.

@namgangs he spoiled me yesterday.
lutz and her go no where romantically. two new princes appear later and a love triangle things goes down until she ends up with one and that isn't even a real 'romantic' relationship. super disappointing imo.

Definitely keep the translation as close to the RAW as possible! When translating, I always keep the changes to a minimum; remember: 4Kids went bankrupt because, once people got access to the subs, no one wanted to see their changes anymore, if you allow yourselves to deviate away from the source in fan projects such as these, when you started working professionally you will allow yourself to continue with that behavior and end up doing bad translations to the point you'll have to write an excuse blog explaining why you butchered Phoenix Wright's localization!

@namgangs :
Although she technically got engaged a few times (political engagement), the final pairing is Ferdinand, the head priest of the blue priests from the church who:
1. 'negotiated' with the family in regards to Myne's treatment during her job at the church (and accept pretty much all the conditions the family asked for)
2. Is the only person around who know of her past life via a memory diving spell. (because she's far too excellent + some of her knowledge is...rather suspect)
3. Helped Myne cure a crippling illness that she has as a side effect to her long years suffering from Consuming (this 'illness' ends up being a key thing down the future)
4. Teach Myne some magic/how to survive noble society.
5. Made plans and scheme to ensure her safety (sadly Myne sometimes go and ruin it all, usually when books get involved)
6. 'sacrifice' himself to keep her safe (he had to get into a political engagement and move out of the domain, the domain he moved to is hostile)
Expanding on #3
The main difference between a person with Consuming and a noble is their magic power. Not the amount, but rather the qualities.

Nobles inherit the colors of their parents ("dye me in your color" is a very...suggestive line in that universe)
Consuming on the other hand is 'weak all-color', and they're easily dyed in color of others even without use of medicines, however this dyeing is only temporary and soon enough they return to that weak rainbow again.
HOWEVER, if someone with Consuming actually reach the state of dying but manage to survive, bits of their body turn into magic stone fragments (technically this apply to anyone with magic power)
If these "Life God's Marked" people ever get dyed, they actually permanently kept the dying and thus from an outside view would not look so different from a noble.
Except that nobles would either give their children a magic tool to drain excess mana since young (the filled magic stones are used for classes at school) or send them off to the church (where they drain their excess mana by offering it to divine tools)

So basically when Ferdinand did the memory dive thing, he dyed her in his magic power, and thus Myne gain his rainbow colored magic (something of a requirement to rule the country...did I mention he's actually got royal blood in him?)
Then later on he cured her of her magic stone fragments that was blocking her magic flow, in turn giving her both stronger magic and make her, from magic power perspective, just like a noble.

@unknownids :
What 2 princes and love triangle?

While there's some similar situation, in term of actual feelings, pretty much all of them have a least one person doing it for political reason only so I don't want to count that as love triangle.

Like, even with the 2 princes from royal family and the princess from the #1 domain, only one of the two prince was in love with her (the only reason he even competed with his brother)
Though thanks to Myne getting involved with the latter and the princess, she ends up help the two get together (the tl;dr is that both of them give up their rights to the throne)
That said, Myne's long range blessing for the two ended up causing more chaos in the end...so yeah.

Although I said that Myne and Ferdinand's reason for getting engaged isn't exactly due to romantic passion, the way they act kinda fit how the society expect 2 people in love to act (given Ferdinand's personality, his actions are likely intentional)
For example, in order for 2 betrothed to get used to each other's magic power, they often gift each other with a magic tool filled with their own magic power.
Well, Ferdinand pretty much always have Myne covered in all kind of defense accessories, both to help her drain her excess mana and to keep her safe.
But for people who don't know much, he's the exact image of a man protecting his waifu.

Myne on the other hand, had once described Ferdinand as THE perfect husband for her if she's ever getting married (although one large reason was him giving his library to her when he left the domain)
And during their reunion, Lutz's POV chapter noted how Myne acted exactly like a maiden in love when she denied she's in love with Ferdinand (blushing furiously, which is the first time Lutz has ever seen such reaction from her and gave his approval for Ferd for that)

Also if you read the other spoilers above:

When Ferdinand did his memory diving thing, he dyed Myne in his color.
So in term of how magically compatible they are, these two are 'perfect match'
(While he's a schemer, based on a few other things I do not think he intentionally dyed her)

But just to give you an idea:
Obviously since Myne got engaged before, she got the engagement magic tools from her previous partners.
Well, the first one was her adoptive brother, but both knew it was just for political reason (avoid civil war since Myne is way more qualified for the seat, but she's adopted) so they never did this, and any item that might be seen as for that purpose actually came from Ferdinand, including this hairpin that used a rainbow magic stone (very rare and valuable)

Then later on when the royal prince got engaged to Myne in order to secure the key for running the country-running magic tool that Myne had, he gave her one.
Except at one point another noble pointed out that the tool was turning into dust, due to magic power overload, and angrily commented how unfit the prince is to be her partner if his magic tool can't even handle his partner's magic power (since magic power level difference is part of judging whether two people's magic is compatible, thus why there's very little, if any, marriage between people of different social level because those are judged based on magic power level)

@WhimsiCat thank you, now I don't have to wait on translations and get most of what I wanted to know out of the way.

Maine's face when she's talking about being able to make a book to Benno is great. Even moreso when you consider the fact that, to anyone in the world she's in, she's talking absolute nonsense.

As for the use of nonchalant, I've grown pretty used to seeing descriptions of a person's tone or attitude as a "sound effect" so it looks fine to me.

@WhimsiCat @Nighthawlc Thanks both!

Wow I know Ferdinand is important but I thought his character's purpose was like Benno's poor man for church/nobel arc. Oh boys, didn't think I would look past him and miss entirely. Not a ship I'd sail myself (from now, maybe future interact and how he was draw in manga would help lol) but I guess it's interesting and make sense.

Eta. Now knowing what I know it's kinda more funny when looking back at their early interaction.

@WhimsiCat

It does not matter the truth about the tronbee , what matter is what will people think . They know tronbee suck nutrients from the soil making other plants die so some people will think that it also suck lifeforce. They might not even know about the concept of soil nutrition and might just conclude the lifeforce of nearby plants are sucked.

During the advent of photography some people say it suck the soul. There is also about potatoes........

Another example is antivaxxers. They see chemical composition and see something like element mercury they will assume it is dangerous contrary to the truth that everyone who paid attention to chemistry class should know. It is harmless as as water (hydrogen is lethal to humans and oxygen in pure form is lethal )

Except we've seen how people treat dead tronbee.

Y'know, the one chapter where Myne heard of another Tronbe appearance, and went to see a whole bunch of people carrying pieces of it back in town?
Because it makes for a very sturdy furniture once processed?

So yeah, your fear is unwarranted.

@namgangs : To be fair
In the WN the shipping didn't really happen until much later, even his POV chapter didn't show any hint of such.

Whereas in the manga, they literally give a full split page of them (y'know, that 'one character casually run past their fated person without realizing their future ship' sort of setup)

They're surprised that it can get someone killed? You kidding me, it's to be expected.
