I'm an Indonesian myself and I can tell that it's better to start the work from Japanese instead of Indonesian because the Indonesian translation itself sometimes using some slang that might not work in English

You can still use the clean Japanese raws that aren't watermarked by the Indonesian typesetter even if you're using that as a basis for your own translation.
