Thing is they're actually trying to, but whenever they try to solve the body swapping thing or have a deeper conversation there's someone there to "magically" interrupt them. Metaphorically speaking, if this had been a teenager trying to fap only to get blueballed by his parents barging in every time, his balls would've blown up by now.
That being said nobody's smart enough to text the other with a "so about what you were saying earlier..." either...
