I think Sunao’s problem in osrting out his feelings lies in that he wants to have his friend Lemon back, much more so than her as his girlfriend, and he doesn’t realise that. So he’s confusing and mixing the two, which is understandable, since Lemon as his girlfriend was at the same time also his friend of a long time. It’s kind of impossible to carve out one aspect of the relationship without also touching upon the other.

Can you really blame him? Him trying to resolve things could (most likely, would) disturb the status quo. People generally don't like going out of their comfort zones or smth like that.

oh I can't blame him, as I said, it's in character, but man I feel bad for him, dude just untangled his unresolved relationship hangups and now he is tangling himself on his own into a new one. I get where Sunao is coming from, it makes sense, but as an outside observer with the luxury of context and backtracking characters have in the story, I can't help but notice Sunao's own overthinking leading to inaction is unconsciously sabotaging himself.
It's less of a critique on the character or the story, more of a painful observation, because I know myself I have made the same mistake without noticing I was overthinking shit and only realized well in hindsight. Seeing it in the story happening step by step is just a slow motion "hang on nooooooo"

I get busy with life and leave manga for like a year. Come back to find not much has changed.

At least this is moving forward though, bit by bit. I shudder thinking of the one series that shall-not-be-named that has around for many years, where things were still in "discovery" phase last I left. Hell that entire phase itself has probably been going on longer than this entire series.


Anyways. I don't know what I expected, but nice to see things move past the "cheating on you" breakup. That was surprisingly normal, like that kinda drama happens all the time with girls/cliques(source, me listening to siblings and moms experiences). And teens are not going to say or do things that make the most sense, like blurting out something like that.

I don't know the Natsumin fans are sad about. I feel like the ball is going towards their court.
Even though I dread that as I am 100% team Lemon

They're sad because Natusmi is listed as a Supporting Character in the couple of places I looked.
