And another point from me about new romanization. I totally understand that it helps to save a letter or two during typesetting, but dropping long vowels IS WRONG. There are a lot of pairs of different names where every one of them MUST be different in pronunciation and romanization (regardless of their kanji writing, of course), for example, Toru != Tooru! Dropping u in ...you... could be permitted, since it is a known practice in Hepburn romanization for some names ("Tokyo" is being said and written as it is, but it's actually must be pronounced "Toukyou") and that way Kyouko -> Kyoko is acceptable for me, since I still grasp "yo" as long vowel here (but for example, Kyo != Kyou and a certain one of Fujibayashi twins will throw a book at you!). But Kouno -> Kono is just plain rude.
