It was fucking excellent!!Bro i like this chapter
To be fair, she thinks she is dealing with a simple rich kid. Most folks aren't going to be on their A game against something they deem so harmless. This is just the start, and the witches will eventually show just how evil they are, though their real fight against him won't start for a while.Yeah, resorting to violence at all during this meeting was just a disappointment.
I expected stuff more like burning their workshop, kidnapping, raping, and then discarding the girl he takes care of, and crippling the craftsman.
Going after the high-profile kid with violence at all is so damn b-rate, that I still expect this to be revealed as some kind of "test" of his mettle, next chapter. And I hate the plot even more than this chapter, if it does that...
Yeah I think the entire point is that the Witch thinks she's just dealing with another snotty rich kid who'd be easily intimidated when threatened since those kinds of kids wouldn't be real-world savvy enough to handle that kind of shit.Yeah, resorting to violence at all during this meeting was just a disappointment.

"Y'see, witches, they believe their own lies, which gives them false confidence. Y'see?long lasting peace make this witch blind on what violence is all about.
"Witch" is just the weird term for "bureaucrat," existed since the time they were still an united Shantila Empire. According to some dumb-ass explanation, the knights had lost some influence after the collapse of the Empire, while witches rose in power and seized the control of central government.I still don't get why they are called "witches" if they don't have magic, if they are just normal women with some administrative power just kill them and be done with the situation all together.
My point also implicitly included how resorting to violence during the meeting is a bad idea because he is high-profile. As in, his main family would likely feel forced to retaliate, and beyond even that, the royal family might get unnecessarily involved.Yeah I think the entire point is that the Witch thinks she's just dealing with another snotty rich kid who'd be easily intimidated when threatened since those kinds of kids wouldn't be real-world savvy enough to handle that kind of shit.
so i think she tried strong arming him cause quite frankly they think they have full monopoly on business knowledge and shit. they crush all competition in their infancy and normally they could crush him just as easily BUT he got a royal favor that protects him from their normal tactics. He has had them off their game from the getgo as you would suspect of a chieftains son. This does seem strange to me as well. The witch should know the Hou family fights in actual wars, so even if she was just measuring Yuuri's resolve, this indeed seems too cheap. You can't measure a warrior's resolve like this. It should be done through nefarious means, where the warrior can't rely on his best talents and skills. Like poisoning in secret, since poison was mentioned here. Isn't poison something that ought to belong to a witch family anyway? Poison someone close to the warrior and see how he will react. Of course the warrior might just attack in a straightforward manner in retaliation, knowing the identity of the enemy, so it's not necessarily a better option. Dependency on antidote might still work. Anyway, the witch (mafia) should work using their own best methods, not try to attack using the opponent's best methods.
Maybe the witch mafia has had so easy for so many years that they don't genuinely know what to do if the opponent knows how to fight back at all.
I believe the term are there because once upon a time (like a Millennia or more ago) they are "real" witch. they do divination, potion making, physician, record keeping etc. well you can see them as "smart" women that the royalty keep as advisor.I still don't get why they are called "witches" if they don't have magic, if they are just normal women with some administrative power just kill them and be done with the situation all together.
