Is Oto wanting to date Shibuya the first time an important character has expressed such a desire in this manga? Akiba himself seems to be completely free of any romantic emotions, aside from shipping fictional characters. Shibuya doesn't seem to be much better; she only loves to make Akiba cosplay her favourite characters. Surprisingly Ito also only views Abika as a cosplaying toy. I reckon Ito could actually date Akiba, but I'm not sure the love there would be romantic at all, it would rather be similar to the love a person who rebuilt a classic American muscle car from a wreck would feel toward their project car of many years, or perhaps the kind a certain sort of horse owner would feel toward his/her precious companion.

i agree, though i think the intent was moreso to depict both akiba and shibuya as airheaded and not realizing that they have feelings for each other outside of “hehe cosplay”, though there is more evidence of this not being the case currently

This manga is a dark horse; it quickly became one of my favorites, slowly. The childhood friend sister and brother characters didn't ruin anything; if anything, they made the dynamic even more interesting.

I get what you’re saying. So far, their feelings come across as very platonic, and there haven’t been many moments that really show genuine romantic emotion. The first couple, the crossdresser and photographer who shared the same interest feels to me will be their future too, so I think the two childhood friends will be the ones to actually push things forward into a more real romantic direction, I don't dislike it, but if their relationship stays limited to just crossdress cosplay feels too shallow, the other chapter when he rush it to her to ask for any kind of help It's like he doesn't really have anyone he confide more than her. I get the frustration too
