Wow, cultured reference with Akira there girl. That film is more than two times her age! (Unless this is somehow set some years prior to the current year (of this chapters release)).
Actually ,that could be partially the case by 5 to 10 years or so, at least indirectly from the mangaka's point of view as they'd likely be drawing on their own high school life for experience which would invariably be somewhat offset from current immediate high school life, even if they they actually set it in the current year.
Regardless it's an somewhat oddly anachronistic inclusion of a reference for a high school girl her age, even if it is a classic, but makes her all the more interesting especially given that he doesn't know what she's talking about !
