Much as I enjoyed the Discworld books, sometimes they go for a pithy quote over an actual truth. This is one of those times.

For a short while until she died horribly from doing something terminally unwise, sure. There are a lot of starry-eyed fools in those books that are only mentioned as punchlines.

You're missing the point, and since you're already being rude as hell making this a personal attack for no reason, I'm just going to say outright that you're probably missing the point on purpose.

It's got nothing to do with me. I'm not involved. I'm not the one who's going to force her. Decent chance it's not even a specific person who forces her.

But lasting relationships take work, and a degree of sacrifice. You can't run one on romance alone, any more than you can have a healthy diet of pure fondant.

If this works out for her, it'll only be because this is a rom-com, and as fictional as the Discworld.

You're the one that said "It's not optional." You're the one that insist they have to live a certain way and have a certain type of relationship.

This is about you forcing them to live how you think they should.

There are different types of people and different types of relationships. Leave the kids alone and let them figure it out for themselves.

God, I really hate to be negative about this, but I can't help but feel like this series is spinning its wheels a little bit. This feels like a chapter that should've been in an earlier volume.

It doesn't really seem like anything major has happened for awhile. It's still just the same overarching threat: her graduation.

I love slow burns, but it stops feeling like a good "Will they, won't they" if the only stopping the "Will they" is the author. 😭

It would kinda fit the theme of romance theme though. Not everything works out how we want it to. It's important to live in the moment and they've had something special the entire time.

It's also kinda ironic that the person who talks about romance and whimsy so much is also the one purposefully kneecapping their own romance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm also frustrated that they're both being silly about this. But if they don't end up together they still had an unforgettable time together in the Hyper Go Home Club.

I'll be honest, and I know it's kind of a mean thing to say, but I think KyoAni has fallen off, particularly since they don't do cute SoL anime like this anymore.

A high percentage of them were murdered by being burned to death. This year, their co-founder passed away.

They're starting to ramp back up into full new productions now. Even if you don't like Sparks of Tomorrow, it has incredible animation. As for cute slice of life, they'll be doing the anime for Ruri Dragon.

Ruri dragon is making a sharp turn towards urban fantasy battle shonen, and it hasn't felt like a SoL for a while now, I did forget about City, so I think I'll give it a look later, saw about 2-3 chapters of sparks of tomorrow and I just started feeling like I wasn't the target audience, so choose to drop it.

Aw that's solo cute. I'll say that it's not just the thought that counts. Yes communicating like they do is inconvenient, but it is special, and the thing about convenience is that once we have it it is hard not to partake in it. It's like a promise to do things the harder ways that's also more meaningful for each of them.
