It sadly is expected to work that way in this genre. The author probably has little choice with editors actually loving this shit unironically. It is the same reason why 90% of shoujos ABSOLUTELY NEED the female lead to randomly turn into a pushover doormatt and emotionally cheat/be swayed for some chapters atleast. Formula.

Idol huge in japan = everyone, absolutely EVERYONE including classmates, kids and almost always in an uncomfortable way adults, has to lust for said idol even if underage + bonus points if "idol life is so hard and dangerous owo".

Take dress-up darling as an example (talking about most recent chapters). It is the slightly popular "girl turns into model and whole world discovers her" trope with a twist going into online persona/idol territory (thank god that one is starting to fade)

Marin turns into a super idol-level model in less than 20 minutes by doing a shoot, going viral to the highest degree and the author HAS to show 19 pages of closeups of adult men lusting for her and falling in love with her (actually counted, it was 33% of all pages from said chapters). Followed up by more adults discussing her! Followed up by the cringiest part of the trope, forced drama with the MC due to the discovered model needing to be force changed!

This one is a high school series through and through so can't really blame them too much. In this particular case it can be turned into a fun plotpoint that might still redeem the people around her. Dress-up darling can't do that anymore.

Oh, right. Sorry about that. Never failed any chemistry class, I swear. Well, I also see many people commenting about the proportions of the manga, and I feel like it's due to the less of experience of author. See, Author is currently a uni student which means quite young compared to other manga artists. Where as proportions are the hardest part of atanomy and requires experience. So I actually won't blame him, the art has been constantly improving, anyway. Also, you guys join discord. We finally caught up with the raws, yayyy!
