π thanks, i got someone doing post-chapter upload quality checking lol. All my mistakes even from little cleaning specs get caught.
For the names, the orginal mc's name was θθδΈ (Weilisi) since it's a foreign name, I didn't transliterate it. (Plus Weilisi sounds really weird) "Vellis" actually came from one of my irl friends' names. Plus it sounded close enough to the chinese yk.
And as for Aurora (ζε
), I don't know how the previous tl got "Xiao Guang" even if you sucked ass at tling, you shouldve still gotten Xiaoguang. Breaking the names apart creates an extra surname that never existed. Also "xiao" is a honorific in chinese meaning "little" (it's often used with younger people you're close to) and if you put "xiao Guang" instead of "Xiaoguang" it makes it seem like the mc is hella close with the dragon girl already. I didn't transliterate this one just incase in the future I encounter a ε°ζε
(xiao-Xiaoguang) and that just sounds really really weird. As for how I got "Aurora," the character's in her orginal chinese names are ζε
which ζ stood for "dawn" and ε
stood for "light." I learned somewhere (probably from my insane tiktok addiction) that the goddess of dawn in Roman Mythology was named "Aurora" and i just stole that name π€
ack i like the chinese names more, only when i KNOW the setting is china. I hate how tapas makes jake walk around china
Ouhhh π’ i loved pbmmv
My all-time-favorite baihe would be Daughter of Evil and Miss Devil and that's it. No other series was able to fill my craving for isekai, magical girls, and yeah!
If you like slowburn, I'd say try out "Long-Awaited Feelings." It's also top tier imo
Thanks a lot for the explanation and the recommendations. I'll try them and see how it goes. Though, not too hopeful since
Please Bully Me, Miss Villainess! also started out well.
Nowadays, I try to only read finished works, which saved me from a lot of pain. I always skim through the comments on the END chapter to see what the general sentiment is, and, most of the time, it's people saying it was axed and/or started out well but turned bad.
For example, the bullet I dodged yesterday was
Usotsuki Satsuki wa Shi ga Mieru, which I had bookmarked and noticed that it was finished. Not only was it axed, but it was yuri bait.
I'm not "the journey is more important than the destination" kind of guy. The end is what decides whether the journey was worth it or not.
For example, you might have had a happy family life with your wife and child for years, but if it turns out that your wife cheated on you and the kid isn't yours, well...you've been living a lie and I wouldn't be surprised you'd chose to end your life. It just gives a completely different context to everything you've experienced so far.
Anyway, unrelated, but that's how I feel about reading ongoing works. I'd rather know the author didn't just shit the bed halfway through.
