He isn't an asshole , more to the side of unfeeling and he's better that way, he is probably what you'd call perfectly impartial, mistake = punishment and no shit shat shit like feelings affecting his judgements.
Maybe the character who stayed the same the entire run will be quite boring and people expecting a change from cold hearted god to some imperfect emotion-riddled being.

Also dog soul is quite cute, her human form is also cute but she and her humanity is fucking annoying.

isnt he on earth because all the other gods agreed he was a shit god so I find it funny that people are defending him considering this seems like a prelude to a punishment to him for not learning shit during his punishment

I like how this all started with being a bit overboard on dealing out justice for minor crimes considering how bad of an idea it is to make this guy do all the police work when he is a war god that also does all the dirty work which is like making the CIA/Military do the police work( Spoiler that doesn't typically end well). Not to mention they send this war god down to earth to make a bunch of demons repent through peaceful means when he hasn't essentially learned anything or wasn't given certain rules to follow or hell even a handler to make sure he doesn't get out of hand. This is letting loose a goddamn war criminal with super powers on the demon and human populace. I am pretty sure the gods are idiots and are about as responsible for this shit happening if they didn't see this coming.

I love a mc who dgaf. No pushing your morality onto him. Especially a pet dog. Maybe he'll change after interacting with humans more, but I prefer his change come naturally rather talk no jutsued
