as a couple i can understand it's 'natural' to move in together but also wanting your own space or so , but at least they don't have to worry about the price , i wonder how common it is to move into the same apartment complex but not the same room , although even as platonic friends when you get busy as you age it might be nice/comforting if ppl could be in the same complexes even if they don't have time to set aside for weekend dinners versus like a monthly meetup or so if only to complain about the landlord XD

Nah. It is more like she is at the age where she already settled in and doesn't want to change. When the couples are young, it is easy for them to change things and match their partner. When you are at a certain age, you are already used to your living place, habits, routine, etc. It became a hassle to change to accommodate a new person.
