That "compared to serious fans, I've got a long way to go." sort of mentality that pops up when manga talk about being fans of things always weirds me out. Like what you like however best suits you. Being a fan of something is not a dick-measuring contest to assess your value/worth. I know western fandoms do have their "who's a bigger fan" comparisons about who has the most/rarest/priciest/most obscure memorabilia or who has the most trivia/knowledge, but it doesn't feel so exclusionary. Like the comparison is to go "I'm more of a fan than you" and not "you're not enough of a fan to count as one at all."

Aw, "Lobsters" uniform. I'm surprsied they didn't give Mochizuki like Mochi ice cream or so. Nothing wrong with enjoying something in the comfort of your own home would be cool to have seen a sports bra for kenta to have a break from cooking and maybe meet some interesting bartender lol

i'm not rly into sports but other than like the super bowl i would think a sports bar wouldn't be as overwhelming as an actual stadium unless seats in there are really luxurious

i think mochizuki has no problem going out and watching the game at the stadium. he mentioned "failed to get ticket" and "kenta looks like average stadium-goers" afterall. it's the sports bar he has a problem with

Then you are dead wrong. Japanese are crazy about baseball. It is the number one sport to them, beating soccer. Look at the number of manga about baseball and the number of manga characters aiming for Koshien. And even when the manga aren't about sport, baseball will somehow appear.

it is surprising mochizuki is into it but i would think kenta would've been too bbq obsessed but it's great that theyr'e able to bond one way or the other (tho other than like the beach volleyball maybe they can find some smaller scale sports to do at a picnic/afterwards for exercise lol)

Chow time at the ball park is also nice but it helps that it's about cute girls enjoying food too as much as the baseball aspect of it
