Interesting she says "parents" when it's just her dad (although i guess you'd still say that even if ur mom passed unless dad got remarried to that other woman already)

I'm sure some "instant" pack brands are like 4x as better in Japan directly but i'm surprised he wouldn't have had some hand rolled ramen and such or so, if not like spaghetti unless that's the same b/c you don't associated the packaged spaghetti/noodles like that as being 'unhealthy' like ramen packets are (if not udon for thicker noodles but i guess kenta was craving ramen specifically)

Other than some kinda penalty fee, i wonder how many younger teens or broke college students order those 'extra large challenge bowls' as a way to get extra food even if they don't finish it. or like 2-3 being able to share one bowl or so XD

Love the ramen restaurant 'uniform' bonus sketch at the end 8D;

Pretty sure he made chashu and not char siu. Char siu is roasted. It's in the name.

I'm just gonna say it. Ramen is as overrated as tacos. Neither of them are bad. I like them, in fact. I just think people act as if they are mana from heaven rather than tasty unhealthy food.

Mac n' cheese is in the same boat.
I think what doesn't help is most ramen and tacos are mid af even in their own category. I've had what people think is nice ramen and then I've had actually really fucking good ramen and it's not the same thing. Mac n cheese is always shite though.

I call this Naruto's miojo. Miojo is the main brand of ramen in my country, manufactured by Nissin, probably have a different name in other countries.

I wouldn't say mac n' cheese is always bad. It's tasty and easy to make though bad for you. You CAN actually improve it, though. Thomas Jefferson's recipe is actually pretty damn good. Using mozzarella, parmesan, and pecorino romano makes it basically egg-less carbonara. You can also add some seasonings to it and put some hashbrowns or breadcrumbs on top to make it into a casserole that's pretty decent as a side dish for, say, Thanksgiving.

I do agree that the pinnacle of ramen IS actually really good, but that's the kind of stuff you have to go to a traditional Izakaya in downtown Osaka or Sendai to actually experience.

Well Kenta's ver is more 'upscaled' but i can get it being a craving you'd have now and then esp if there's a local stand/shop that sells them for fairly cheap to visit maybe every other month if not like, weekly, but i'm sure Japan has like 10 other "noodles and meat" kinda dishes (given how common rice is in most homes even if ppl aren't rly cooking for themselves as much as this couple i wonder if ppl would still order rice dishes (or like a quick onigiri at a convenience place), if a bowl doesn't come as like a free side versus getting like curry. or just getting like fried rice or so since steamed rice is so common you feel like you shouldn't pay for it like water XD)
