I could understand flinching (kind of like when you imagine something very painful happening and snap out of it), but busting out crying seems a bit out of it; they are in a good relationship and he knows it and this was just a momentary imageOfcourse not but not over some trivial shit you made up in your mind like a middleschooler
but, I have to say, people unfortunately literally kill themselves sometimes for things that are, more or less, just trivial things inside their mind, so I wouldn't discount the effect imagination can have on you (especially long-term).
As we have seen many times before, Kenta has been shown to be, for a long time, somewhat vulnerable to his negative imagination, so it kinda makes sense - even if I agree that the reaction here is a bit knee-jerk all things considered
