people here saying she had to test first, but like, she's used the start new game feature before and it worked fine, that's how avoided going bankrupt the first time. It's not her fault the game decided to change the rules on her.

She didn't test it while being in a convo with the young master though, that would be testing it. Of course you can leave and restart the game when you're in a safe zone, that's the only thing she did test.
