In this chapter, she says that if she dies in the game she dies for real (paraphrasing) but I don't know how she got that impression. If anything, her ability to reset time (demonstrated in Chapter 2) seems to indicate that isn't the case at all. Unless there's a lot of context from the novel that's being omitted of course.
