The best way I can describe this manga is "that weird dream where you are stuck in a labyrinth where nothing makes sense, but consistantly so"

What a fun read.

Dynamic is probably the best word to describe it.

It's not completely new but it's nothing similar, characters and logic are interesting, the plot is engaging. Worth a read

Guess I'll voice an unpopular opinion.

This manga is a tech demo marketed as a full game.

It fails to get you to sympathize with any of the characters, especially that one psychopath flawless genius who solves every problem seemingly effortlessly with a smirk and seems to always be having fun.

There is an interesting premise of 'a glitch in reality', and a few mind-entertaining ways to exploit the world mechanics, but no real suspense, drama or character growth.

Overall, a disappointment.

I started it out of boredom, got more interested by the middle of the story but in the end I just felt kind of underwhelmed. The main theme of the manga, in my opinion, is escapism. Don't open the spoiler if you haven't already finished the manga.

By the middle, with Reika's flashbacks and small conflict with Youko (with the latter saying "once we get back, leave the apartment", I thought we were going towards a conclusion of "life can't be just about escapism and it's necessary for us to foster relationships with others to be fulfilled". The thing is, that is a pretty basic and idealistic conclusion, and Reika's character didn't really point to some revolution in her personality that would suddenly make her open to others and to new relationships - so I guess it was to be expected that the ending wasn't like that. Even so, the ending of "Reika is happy living by herself exploring a sandbox because she's a true protagonist" just made the whole thing seem kind of flat to me. What was the point?

I do think that not all art forms need to make some kind of grand point about reality or have a tearful ending or any kind of conclusion that changes your life, but I guess I felt like this manga deserved one and had build-up for something like that. But now I just see it more like a sci-fi short story without any actual conclusion that might make you think "wow, I'm glad I read this".

Reika is cute though. And the universe is pretty well-made, with a lot of in-universe logic being explained in nice ways. It's kind of entertaining, I just didn't feel like it had much depth so the best word I could use to describe it really is underwhelming. To a point, I agree with Yomogida's comment that this kind of feels like a tech demo marketed as a full game.

Enjoyable series.

Definitely pick this up if you're into lucid dreaming, as there are many parallels between the stuff that happens in this manga and the stuff that happens in dreams.

Only 1/8th people finish because the last chapter just came out recently, most people who started just haven't came back to finish that last chapter.
I really loved it, it's indeed very reminding of dreaming. I like the though processes involved. The end feels a bit rushed but it's not too bad.

I feel like there should have been a lot more in this story, but they kept it short and sweet. The ending was gratifying enough.

I had huge trouble composing my emotions and thoughts at the end of the manga.

The idea that Reika decides to stay in the pseudo-world, with her only remnant left in the real world being Youko's memories and the controller... idk
I'm trying to put myself in Youko's shoes, and it's really tough. Almost tragic in a way. Bittersweet, perhaps
When your friend leaves you, presumably forever, it hurts. It hurts to be forgotten and uncared for.
But then there is this conundrum: She in a place she belongs. Reika is happy where she is, and perhaps I should be happy because of that. But then she's no longer with me/Youko/us.
Should I treat her as just being dead? Is this what a loss of a significant other feels like? I can't help but feel left out and heartbroken in a way. Perhaps grief.

I just wish there was some way to communicate between the two, to know the other person is okay. Keeping in touch, y'know?
For Reika to abandon her old world completely felt selfish for me. I want to be able to *take care* her; she is my friend, after all.

But then again, should I even treat Reika as a human? Does she have any sense of humanity? I just don't know. I don't want to treat her as such, but humanity as what it is is definitely "not her thing" and definitely didn't treat her well.

I think they could've made the ending a bit better; there can definitely be some more developments done, but overall the manga is pretty good.

And what do I think about the ending? I still don't know.

A bit rushed at times, could have probably done with an extra volume or two. Still, the premise and "glitch mechanics" were pretty creative, and the ending's fittingly unusual. Glad to have finally seen this series' conclusion after 6+ years.
