@Tanzanite thanks for picking this up to this point!
also please tell the other person to upload their version here as well if they're gonna continue the scanlation
For those confused as to what's going on, logical... spoilers, I guess? This is just based on what's been established in this chapter and the last:
[ul]The beckoning cat controls the lights
Only people who live in or have visited Oreki's house recently would know this
When the table was cleaned, the beckoning cat was left there, because whoever decided it should be left there knew it being on the table was more important than even the TV remote
Therefore, one or more of the people currently present have visited his house recently, and the rest do not know
Oreki (and possibly the person or people who have visited before) do not want the rest to know[/ul]
Deeper spoiler:
Oreki seems to have recently been given an expensive, high-class jam as a gift
Also, it seems we are still missing some contextual information.
Why is it important that the cat must be on the table? Isn't it wireless? Is it because the light beam is directed and/or short range? If we assume that the party will be over in 2 hours, 4.30 is still early to turn on any light, so the cat can be put back in its place after everybody leaves.
Which leads to the question, why is it important for the cat to be on the table?
So are we have to go to the other site to read the continuation, or are we have to wait for the other translator to be kind enough to put thwir version here?
@treiral you are better off reading the novel, this manga has fucked up the narrative

I don't know if the narrative will work well in serialised form. It works in a novel that's meant to be consumed from the beginning to the end with no one joining in halfway.
