Man, it's really hard to understand your mumbling, unless it's when you're reading the already-translated text off screen.

"Joking" aside, I commend you for actually putting out that video. I see that my comments got you annoyed enough to try to prove yourself. It actually just made me more suspicious since I'm pretty sure you picked up your phone almost every time you had to translate the SFX, but whatever. We all know how useful Google Lens is.

Now, the issue is that you didn't actually address any of my criticisms. Also, I never complained about the webtoon, outside of it cutting a lot of context, which is not your fault. The translation there was always good enough. I only spoke about the weird errors in the web novel translation.

Each time I brought up specific examples, you've ignored them and responded to something else I didn't even imply. That's a classic tactic of those trying to avoid criticism and prove themselves right. You also completely ignored my last comment. I know you saw it since you reacted to the following comments.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt one last time.

Mind you, I don't believe you only machine translate without editing. Too many of the errors smell of human for that to be the case. That's why it's exactly the MTL-looking errors that make me raise an eyebrow.

I'll give you three clear examples of what I mean, and I hope you will respond to exactly these three errors, without dodging or putting words in my mouth.

1:

With the experience from last time, Leila, who was on guard beside her with a gun, immediately caught the trajectory of the attack.

Leila is clearly a spear user. In the same chapter, she's using spear techniques like "Heavenly Spear Technique, 74th Form: White Feathers Fill the Sky". And every single mention of her weapon afterwards is a "spear".

This is not the first time I've encountered this error. On a previous chapter, a comment said that the Chinese word for "spear" could also mean "gun", which explains how the error came about, since there have been no guns other than artillery cannons introduced up to this point.

Another example is when most of the time "Leviathan's offspring" was used, but a couple of times "Leviathan's son" slipped in.

This type of error, where different meanings of a word are used, is nearly impossible for a human that's following the story to make. But it's an error that AI is very prone to making since it lacks the context needed to decide which translation is correct.

2:

Although she didn’t raise her voice much, the divine consciousness of the Goddess of Life had long covered every corner of this area. As long as she did this, naturally, He would notice.

Here "He" refers to the Goddess of Life, who's a woman. This type of error is easy to notice for a human following the plot, but not for a machine. And in this case, it's logically inconsistent for a "Goddess" to be a "He".

Pronoun errors became less common in the newer chapters, so good job on that.

The reason I chose this example is because, weirdly, "He" is capitalised. Since it refers to a deity, that's correct. But I highly doubt that's something an AI would do, which means it was capitalised by a human. Really curious.

3:

As the dust of battle settled, Violet also arrived with Menna at the side of about a dozen civilians dressed as prisoners, who were captured and bound, sitting in despair.

Here they're clearly prisoners dressed as civilians, since they were criminals who wanted to slip out of town unnoticed.

This type of error, where words are swapped, is much less common. I probably encountered it only about seven times. But each time I'm simply baffled, unsure of how one could possibly have such an error go unnoticed. The swaps never make any logical sense, so they stick out a lot.

If you don't respond, or if your response is the usual deflection, I'll assume I'm right in thinking that you're just using machine translations that you heavily edit.

Mind you, I actually don't mind that. I really only care about the end product, not how you got there.

On a more positive note, I've seen you clearly improving with each volume. Just looking at today's chapter (https://fanstranslations.com/novel/...n-i-reach-the-maximum-level/vol-5-chapter-48/), the only error I could find is in "A God do not act without purpose.", where it should be "A God does not act without purpose.".

I just want you to know that I do actually appreciate the work you do. Do understand that those who complain extensively like me are not doing it out of malice, but because we care about it.

That’s wrong, it doesn’t level you up at all. It slowly increases all of your stats permanently, up to a cap of 10k.
